The Black Robed Regiment

The Black Robed Regiment
Samuel S Adams

In honor of the clergymen, like Jonas Clarke, whose Heavenly convictions led the spirit of men toward the Righteous Justice of the Holy Sword of Vengeance.

When asked by Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock if the people of Lexington would fight, Reverend Jonas Clarke replied, not with hope, but with the stalwart conviction that only comes from a true leader, one whose wisdom has prepared him for the inevitabilities over the horizon. He replied:

“I have trained them for this very hour,

THEY WILL FIGHT”

While reading sermons from Jonas and the other Reverends in the Black Robed Regiment, there is a common theme: We are incapable of being in a right relationship with God while living under tyranny. For each and every soul, freedom is the process and the goal. Wherever we are individually headed, without liberty, we are running in circles, laying again the same foundation of stale sacrifice and old wineskins. For any journey to have the authenticity needed to bring positive change, there must first be freedom. Bondage limits the ability to know and be oneself, making it impossible to have any relationship let alone thee relationship. Outside of personal liberty, one cannot obey God because there is no true connection from which to hear and therefore obey. The voice of God only comes from radical, dangerous, wild freedom. Christians… the degree to which you cannot hear the voice of God is largely due to the bondage you have accepted in our shared world. As Jefferson and Franklin often said, Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God.

The British viewed these clergymen as key agitators, being a major driving force behind colonial resistance and the fight for their independence. Our current churches and their leaders couldn’t be further from this holy conviction and noble courage. That is changing. Christian men will save this nation yet again. There isn’t another way. No, you are not hearing me… this is the only way. Without those who say yes to the spiritual lineage of David and his Mighty Men, there is only darkness. Without Christian men carrying the full depth of Yahweh, thee Great I AM, there is only slavery. Without Christian’s moving away from the sing-songy feminized servitude of the world and its prince, there will only be new depths of bondage.

Eve is still handing you the same apple of obedience to another, a snake, a liar. MEN! Be like your God who anointed you with oil, invites you to his table, invigorates you with his spirit, blesses you with his authority, created you in his image, and declared you would do greater things? Why do you think the voice saying, “Who will go for Us?” comes to the lowly household and not the temple? Why do you think the voice called out from the desert and not the synagogue? This same voice calls out in our time: “WHOM SHALL I SEND?” If the only answer isn’t bursting out of you with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, there is nothing here for you. Be on your way. There is but one response to the voice of many waters:

“Here am I, send me.”

At Bunker Hill, the strong conviction of the congregations of the Black Robed Regiment so holy, so set apart, they weathered three bayonet charges from the greatest army on earth, killing so many so brutally that the British would never forget the carnage, the memory of their terrible ferocity and holy vengeance would cause the British to blunder in many key moments throughout the war. You are those men's lineage! The glory of their testimony is our destiny!

The core misunderstanding causing Christians to blindly fumble about is that if Jesus didn’t do it, they shouldn’t. They WWJD everything like he is only a lamb, as if there is not a time and a place for EVERYTHING under the sun. Like those who long for Egypt, they do not know the time they are living in, a time to escape the bondage of the unjust rulers who hate God. They deny that there is a Lion in the tribe of Judah, that there is a strong right arm, that Warrior is His name, that there are Armies of Angels. What Great Man of God didn’t upset those with authority around them?

MEN! Your leaders have failed you! IT MUST BE YOU. Stop asking for permissions that they do not even have to give. If Saul isn’t trying to pin you to the wall with a spear, if you are not facing accusations of being undignified by those close to you, if the sanhedrin isn’t seeking your destruction, if Herod wouldn't have your head on a silver platter, who the fuck are you? Nobody. Just another who buried the talent the master gave you to invest:

  • “I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’ But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! … … For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

We all hear the call from two perspectives, one from fear, one from faith. Our fear of men is worship to another, and the inaction that comes from it isn’t coddled, comforted, or pardoned; it is treated as what it truly is: wickedness. But you are not wicked, you are good. It is who you have always been and ever wanted to be. What are you waiting for?

2k years ago, Luke warned of doing the same thing over and over, yet here we are.

Here is the good and bad news. You are accountable for what you just read. Where what I have said is off the mark, it will fade; where I have spoken true, even if you be like Jonah… it will follow and haunt you the rest of your days.

I leave you with the words of Reverend Johnas Clarke:

“The passage before us, it is humbly conceived, is well suited to confirm our faith, to excite our trust, and encourage our hope, under such awful dispensations, as it points out the method of God’s government and the course of his providence towards the enemies and oppressors of his people, and the fate of those that shed innocent blood; and at the same time, represents his peculiar care of his church and chosen, and the assurance they have, when under oppression, of restoration and establishment,—and that God himself will plead their cause and both cleanse and avenge their innocent blood.”

“The sword is an appeal to heaven,—when therefore, the arms of a people are eventually successful, or by the immediate interposition of providence, their enemies and oppressors are subdued or destroyed.—When a people are reinstated in peace, upon equitable terms, and established in the enjoyment of all their just rights and liberties, both civil and sacred: then may it be said, that the Lord hath cleansed their innocent blood, and then will it be manifestly evident, that their God is with them and dwelleth in the midst of them.”

We will win the WAR we find ourselves in by WORD and not BLOOD, because Christian Men will answer the call.

P.S.: We get to fight by word when those who would prefer to fight by blood know they would badly lose such a contest. It is only by the might of arms that we proceed by peace. Make Ready. Thoughts?: Contact
